Highly recommended!

For those who know Gstaad inside and out, Benjamin Blatter has recommendations for something different in the surrounding valleys ...

Weissenburg Bad

This famous thermal spring, rising above Weissenburg, was enjoyed for bathing and healing for 350 years. In the past 100 years, the Grand Hotel and spa have almost disappeared. Explore with or without a tour (information boards are throughout site). It’s a 40-minute drive, then a 30-minute hike. Open daily.

Eggli Lounge

Next door to the Bergrestaurant Eggli, this newly refurbished, cosy lounge with its spacious sun terrace is ideal for après-ski wines, champagne, cocktails and snacks. Reached by the region’s most elegant cable car, it offers mesmerising 360-degree views. What better way to celebrate nature in Gstaad?

Berghaus Wasserngrat

This mountain chalet offers breathtaking views, top-quality regional produce, traditional and organic wines, served by a passionate and experienced team led by Nik and Simon Buchs. Relax in the warm, refined interior or enjoy valley views from the expansive terrace. The 1-hour Tiger Trail for fans of snow trail-running is close by.

Ta Cave Sanetsch

Run for three years by Ta Cave, the Auberge du Barrage is open daily from mid-June to the end of October. The concept? Simplicity, wine and classic local dishes. Franck and Guillaume serve their favourite Valais wines, and probably the best fondue in the western Alps! A 15-minute drive, then by gondola or a 2-hour hike.

Hüsy Blankenburg

Our regular guests appreciate the warm atmosphere of this typical Simmental wooden house, which is 300 years old. Fresh, regional and seasonal dishes of the highest quality. Chef/owner Hans-Jürgen ensures that only the best is on the table each day. A 25-minute drive from Gstaad. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Jardins de la Tour Rossinière

I love the atmosphere in this warmly decorated mid-19th century house. Alone in the kitchen, Frenchman Patrick Gazeau cooks like a true artisan. Classic, colourful and tasty cuisine based on local products (in particular his son’s cheese) and plants from nearby valleys. A 30-minute drive from Gstaad. Open Thursday to Sunday.

Warm welcome to the digital magazine of The Alpina Gstaad to discover the secrets of its region and philosophy.
