The playground took inspiration from The Alpina Gstaad’s design, which was heavily influenced by traditional Swiss architecture and the spectacular Alpine surroundings. Crafted with artisan wood in neutral tones, “the unique play tower beautifully blends into the breathtaking mountain landscape and the hotel’s towers,” says Roger Kilchör.
The playground’s highlight is a suspension bridge, where kids can imagine great adventures - like traversing lofty mountain passes and sky-high glaciers. Roger explains how the bridge inspired the playground’s slogan, “From Alpina to Peak,” which is “a nod to the thrilling ‘Peak to Peak’ bridge at the nearby Glacier 3000 resort that spans two summits.”

The custom playground was entirely designed and built in Switzerland. To honour the spectacular forests that surround The Alpina Gstaad, “the playground is made of Swiss pine and larch wood, making it completely local and sustainable,” says Roger. Parents will appreciate the innovative surface that protects young adventurers when they fall. “In addition to being attractive and easy to care for, this new material, Granulat Premium, meets the highest technical, aesthetic, and ecological standards.” What’s more, the fully permeable material allows rainwater to seep back into the ground, reflecting The Alpina Gstaad’s commitment to environmentally friendly initiatives.

Children of all ages will find endless fun on the playground. The play tower requires a higher level of skill, so it is best for kids over 3 years old. The swing is suitable for everyone — from toddlers to adults. Equally conscientious that parents and caregivers also have a good time, the playground has wooden benches and a parasol for relaxing while your little ones scamper about.
