Based on Tibetan medicine and Buddhist traditions, healing works on the body and breath to unlock the mind, allowing for a natural flow of serenity and openness. Body movements and breathing boost the circulation of oxygen, blood, vital nutrients and thus energy, through channels that often become twisted, blocked or impaired. They thus improve our physical health whether for organs, joints or the musculoskeletal system, while also relieving stress by enhancing mental and spiritual well-being in terms of focus, awareness and calm.
At the Six Senses Spa, the Healing Retreat begins with a 30-minute Wellness Screening, a Tibetan Medicine consultation, a healing session with Tibetan singing bowls, and a Ku Nye massage with oils, Hor-Me poultices filled with herbs, cups or stones. Daily 60-minute sessions of Meditation and Tibetan Yoga breathing are joined by an Absolute Wellness Massage with Crystal (A Chakra balancing with Holistic Massage), a final Wellness Screening and a Yoga Nidra session to relieve stress by achieving a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping through meditation. On the third and last day, Tibetan Tsa-Lung therapy teaches deep breathing and breath retention, restoring blocked channels and energy flow.
The programme is available to The Alpina Gstaad's guests in both seasons. It is a fine introduction to Tibetan belief in the wholeness and interdependence of body, mind and nature, and a vision of the universe comprised of air, water, fire, earth and space. Fundamental elements which produce wind, bile and phlegm, "humors" or constitutional types which need to be balanced through proper nourishment, lifestyle, medicine and treatments, in order to achieve health, wealth and spirituality. A 3-day/4-night retreat to enrich your entire life.
